Aditi Joshi

Aditi is a seasoned Human Resources executive with international expertise in building organizations and teams. She has worked across several industries, including manufacturing, and has held leadership roles with esteemed companies including Vistaprint, Pfizer and Sun Life Financial. Aditi brings invaluable passion and skills for advancing company growth, through organic evolution as well as mergers and acquisitions. She holds a BS in Business Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and completed Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation.

Bill Caesar

President

Bill is a seasoned organizational leader in the waste management industry and the first President of Generate Upcycle. He joined Generate Upcycle following the sale of WCA Waste, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer starting in 2014. Prior to WCA, he was the President of WM Recycling, overseeing the organics business and the early-stage technology and services investments portfolio. Bill served as Chief Strategy Officer for Waste Management and was a principal in the Atlanta Office of McKinsey & Company where he advised clients on corporate strategy, growth initiatives, and performance improvement. Prior to joining McKinsey, Bill was a Russian analyst in the Central Intelligence Agency and the U.S. State Department. Bill holds a BA in Russian Studies from Colgate University, an MA in Russian Studies from Georgetown University and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where he was awarded a Keller Scholar Fellowship and graduated as a Fuqua Scholar.

Dan Meccariello

Vice President, Operations

Prior to joining Generate Upcycle, Dan served as the Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Dynamic Systems Management, a turnkey organic waste treatment solutions provider serving the agricultural and food manufacturing industries focused on the development and operations of anaerobic digestion and wastewater treatment projects in North America. Additionally, Dan held a parallel role as the General Manager of Engineering for US Biogas, an anaerobic digestion systems and equipment design firm he co-founded in 2011. Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, Dan worked in the construction industry as a project manager and process engineer supporting industrial and municipal wastewater infrastructure projects. In 2023, Dan was a recipient of the Waste360 40 under 40 award for his contributions to the waste industry. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Floriano Ferreira

Vice President, Engineering

Floriano joined Generate Capital in 2018 with 25 years of domestic and international experience. Floriano led the management and execution of waste and biogas projects in multiple geographies in North America, Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia. His technical expertise includes waste-to-energy, anaerobic digestion and recycling. Floriano provided technical direction and design for more than 300 bioenergy and waste projects with feedstock originated from municipal solid waste, wastewater treatment plants, urban, industrial and agriculture sectors, and with energy technologies including injection of upgraded biogas into the utility pipeline infrastructure (RNG), and the use of natural gas or upgraded biogas as compressed natural gas for vehicles (CNG). Floriano held positions at Tetra Tech, Anaergia, AES, and Mota-Engil S.A. providing technical expertise, capacity building activities and training to government programs in the waste and biogas sectors including for the EPA and USAID. Floriano holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto and an MBA from Hult International Business School.

Jeremy Steinmann

Vice President, Finance

Jeremy joined Generate Upcycle in 2022 as part of the acquisition of Stormfisher Environmental. Prior to joining Stormfisher Environmental and the renewable energy sector, Jeremy served as CFO of several companies in the technology and industrial goods sectors where he led multiple acquisition and growth initiatives. Jeremy holds a BA from Wilfrid Laurier University, a business accounting diploma from Fanshawe College and a CGA/CPA designation.

Suzanne Hunt

Vice President, Policy

Suzanne Hunt joined Generate Capital as Policy Director in 2021 after serving as a consultant to Generate for several years, and in 2023 she became Generate Upcycle’s VP, Policy. Suzanne has over two decades of experience solving problems in energy, agriculture, transportation, waste, and the environment. Suzanne is also a Co-Owner of her family farm and certified sustainable winery in the Finger Lakes, Hunt Country Vineyards. She serves on the external Sustainability Council that advises the CEO and senior leadership of Bayer Corporation in Germany. She is a Northeast Chapter Director of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), a member of the Board of the environmental non-profit Energy Vision, and she serves on the Advisory Council for the Center for Earth Ethics at the Union Divinity School. She is the Chair of the External Advisory Board to Cornell AgriTech, is a member of the Sustainability Advisory Committee to the NY Wine & Grape Foundation, and is a Trustee of the Seneca Park Zoo Society. Suzanne has served as an advisor to entities such as the Club of Madrid, Air New Zealand, and the Carbon War Room. Suzanne was a founding advisor to the annual Art Center Sustainable Mobility Summit. From 2005–2007, Suzanne directed the Worldwatch Institute’s bioenergy program where she orchestrated the landmark research initiative and resulting book, “Biofuels for Transportation: Global Potential and Implications for Energy and Agriculture.” In 2007 she founded Hunt Green LLC whose clients have included a wide variety of non-profits, private equity firms, U.N. bodies, government agencies, clean tech startups, and Fortune 500 companies. Suzanne has been featured as a “Pioneer” in Science Magazine, and as an expert in her fields in national and international print media and television. She holds a BS in Environmental Science from Penn State, and MA degrees in International Affairs and Natural Resource Management from American University and the UN’s University for Peace in Costa Rica.

Vincent Hughes

Vice President, Information Technology

Vincent Hughes is a dynamic and results-driven technology executive with over 25 years of experience leading enterprise IT transformation across healthcare, manufacturing, and sustainable technology sectors. Currently serving as Vice President of Information Technology at Generate Upcycle, Vincent is responsible for shaping and executing the company’s digital infrastructure and IT strategy to support sustainable growth and innovation.

Before joining Generate Upcycle, Vincent spent eight years at Veristat, most recently as Vice President and Data Protection Officer. He led global initiatives that included migrating infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, implementing enterprise-wide applications like Veeva Vault, NetSuite, and Anaplan, and developing cybersecurity and data protection programs aligned with GDPR, HIPAA, and other compliance frameworks. He managed IT teams across multiple regions and oversaw budgets exceeding $6 million to support a 650% headcount growth.

Earlier in his career, Vincent held leadership roles at ASO Worldwide and Florida Tile, where he executed large-scale ERP rollouts, established business continuity programs, and delivered IT solutions supporting FDA-regulated and ISO-certified environments.

Vincent holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Murray State University. Known for aligning IT strategy with business goals, he brings deep experience in cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and operational excellence.
